Rowsie [pronounced rosy] sound like a car crash between Lou Reed, The Replacements and Dinosaur Jr, while listening to the best indie rock mixtape you made when you were seventeen. Comprised of Richard Rothenberg (Guitar Vox), Holly Henderson (Guitar Vox), Alan D Boyd (Bass Vox), Jess ‘the roller’ Rollason (Drums), the band got started when Richard moved to London from New York and went searching for live music in clubs like the ones on the Lower East Side and Brooklyn in NYC. Not finding exactly what he wanted, he decided to create something himself, on Denmark Street and on the Kings Road in Chelsea.

What then emerged was Rowsie – it shouldn’t have worked but it did; playing together after a long COVID isolation and immediately a musical vein was struck that demanded to be explored, and they have done just that with ‘Danish Queen‘.

This track, together with ‘We Live On’, released as a two track EP, is the first music released by the band and a precursor to a full album later in 2022.

Danish Queen was released on 22 April. Get your copy here.
