As we enter our second week of everyone staying at home, we came across a couple of artists that we wanted to share with you…and they couldn’t be more different. Luckily, we know that you like diversity!

Firstly, Bang Bang Romeo bring usYou & I‘, their latest single taken from their debut album. The song is a very personal offering where lead singer, Stars, confronts her anger and heartbreak at the Florida shootings which took place at Pulse, Orlando. With Stars being outspoken and proud of her own sexuality, the news resonated particularly strongly with the band. Stars comments:

“I was sat at home when the news came through about the shootings at Pulse. Someone who was being interviewed explained that there were two people in there that had just got engaged to one another. Their lives were about to begin together and someone took that away from them, purely because they were gay. So I wrote this song. It’s a Romeo and Romeo tale, with some personal bits in there too. It’s me at my angriest and most protective of my sexuality.”

Having amassed over 200k followers on Instagram, Leon Grey is now proving himself as a skilled singer and musician with the release of his soulful single ‘Ticket For Your Love’. Taking inspiration from various influences from Dennis Brown to smooth jazz star Bobby Cadwell, all these sounds can be heard on this track. A laid back, tranquil tune, ‘Ticket For Your Love’ blends old skool reggae with some romantic R&B to form a relaxed song that resonate with Leon’s Jamaican and Greek heritage, mixed with a London upbringing. Listeners with be transported to the beaches of sunny Jamaica in a heartbeat.

Speaking about ‘Ticket For Your Love’ Leon says, “The song defines the magical nature of love and loving. Today we tend to be consumed by love that is often materialistic, so this song brings it back to the core of real love – the truest vibration.”

Born of Jamaican and Greek heritage and brought up in Tottenham, London, Leon Grey’s
roots and diverse heritage have greatly impacted his musical style evidenced on the beautifully sun-kissed track ‘Ticket For Your Love’.

You & I (Metropolis Music) and Ticket For Your Love (Two Way Street Records/AWAL) are both available now.
