Unless you create rap, hip hop or similarly urban sounds, in which case I wish you all the best but your music isn’t what I tend to feature, sorry.
Other than that, bring it on! But please be aware that I only blog once a week so I am very choosy about what I include. I only write positive reviews – there is more than enough negativity in the world and I don’t feel the need to add to it – so I blog what I love and what I believe others will enjoy hearing too. That could be your music!
I guess you know that my blog offers readers the opportunity to to download free music? I hope that’s OK with you. I hope that if they hear you, they’ll add you to their music collection and start to follow you, turn up at your gigs and support your next release. I don’t need you to give away your most recent track. But it does need to be an original!
for example, a bit of history about you and what your influences are. I’m also interested to know what inspires your lyrics, your musical arrangements and your music videos. And if you have any gigs or releases coming up, I can mention them or link to a webpage with them on.
I also share the music I blog about with others, so you might find your track turning up on digital radio stations (including one I host on Jango) or reviewed in other blogs too.
Angry Baby is more than just a blog. Once I have featured your work I’ll continue to follow you and do what I can to share and promote what you do. Sometimes I can help in other ways too, like putting artists in touch with venues and gig bookers I know who might book them to play.
I hope that you like the idea of what I do, but it’s not all one way. You might like to help a bit too. The Angry Baby ‘family’ includes several musicians who have great networks, but whether a fanbase is huge or just friends and family, it helps everyone if we share each other’s music.
So I’d like you to take a look at the Angry Baby blog each week and, if you like the artist that I am featuring, share the review with your fans and followers. If you don’t like the music, don’t share it (integrity is everything!) but I hope you’ll see what’s in this for you because the more people I can reach, the more people I’ll have engaged with Angry Baby for next time you have something you want me to share for you.
You could show willing by sharing this week’s blog and free music feature right now. Just tag @AngryBabyMusic so I see what you have done. Your music is much more likely to go to the top of my ‘listen to’ pile if I know that you have supported an artist I have featured.
Just in case you are wondering if I’ve joined the ‘feeding frenzy’ that seems to surround independent musicians – I haven’t! There is no question of there being any charge for this. I am not asking for money, just the chance to share your music and the hope that you will want to reciprocate and share the music from other artists I feature.
Thanks again for reaching out to me and I look forward to hearing your music.
