Angry Baby’s Top 5 for 2016

As the year draws to an end, it’s time to tally up the Angry Baby chart. Based on the number of downloads enjoyed by Angry Baby readers, here are the Top 5 tracks for 2016, which actually turns out to be 6…

Number 5

At number 5, we have a dead heat. The tie includes Benji Tranter’s “Clothes Horse”, shared by Angry Baby in July along with a review of his EP “At The Launderette”, recorded with his band, The Well Adjusted Individuals. Take another look here, and click the video below to enjoy Benji’s impromptu rendition of his song “Your Heart Is Like Your Handbag”:

And the second track to make the number 5 slot is Kiirstin Marilyn’s “Out Of Control” from her EP “Ghosts”. Check out the review here, as published by Angry Baby back in June. The video for the track is well worth a look too:

Number 4

Our number 4 track for 2016 goes back to March this year. It’s “Stay the Same” from Lorna Dea, which was offered alongside a review of her debut EP “Little Spark” that you can read again here. We’re looking forward to hearing more from Lorna in 2017, meanwhile, here’s her video of “Stay The Same” to remind you why Angry Baby readers enjoyed the track so much:

Number 3

Albert Man gave us a generous, in-depth interview back in May, as well as giving Angry Baby readers a copy of the title track of his album “Cheap Suit”, so it’s no wonder that his music proved such a hit here. Check out the interview here and take a look at the official video for “Cheap Suit” too. Oh, and you’ll be pleased to know that there’s more to come from Albert very soon.

Number 2

Kelly Oliver is one of the fabulous artists from Folkstock Records that we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know in 2016. Her track “Lay Our Heavy Heads” was a popular download for Angry Baby readers when she offered it along with a review of her album “Bedlam” in February. You can read the review here, and enjoy a live perfomance of Lay Our Heavy Heads in the video below. Since Kelly appeared in Angry Baby, her career has gone from strength to strength – read more here – we’re keen to follow her career through 2017 and beyond.

Number 1

Our number 1 track for 2016 comes from a young artist who burst onto our TV screens as the Unexpected Star of Michael McIntyre’s prime time BBC Big Show. At just 12 years of age, she wowed the audience with her performance of the Whitney Houston classic “I Will Always Love You”, which she also offered as a free download here. See why they enjoyed it so much in the video below. I’m pretty sure we’ll be hearing much, much more from this fabulous talent in the not-too-distant future:

I hope you have enjoyed sharing the amazing music of these artists, and all of the others who have so generously shared their songs through the year.
